Mutsumi (Serena Motola) is een beginnende ontwerper en werkt bij het kleine ontwerpbedrijf Lemon Design. Ze is druk bezig met voorbereidend werk voor shoots in tijdschriften, zoals het scouten van locaties en het werken met fotografen. Ze twijfelt eraan of haar werk niet dat van een ontwerper is. Tetsuko (Megumi) voelt Mutsumi's gevoelens. Ze vertelt Mutsumi dat ze een salarisman is. Mutsumi begrijpt niet waarom Tetsuko haar dat vertelde.

Ishihara Santaro is een elektronicaverkoper met een talent voor het entertainen van klanten terwijl hij zijn kenmerkende rode neus draagt. Maar zijn werkelijke verkopen zijn slecht, en hij wordt al snel ontslagen. Via zijn voormalige leraar vindt hij een baan in een ziekenhuis als onderwijzer op de middelbare school voor kinderen die vanwege hun ziekte niet normaal naar school kunnen gaan. Om de kinderen op te vrolijken, probeert hij komedie te gebruiken, maar hij kan niet eens een glimlach toveren. De basisschoolleraar, Tagawa, scheldt hem uit omdat hij zich niet op onderwijs concentreert. Na enkele pijnlijke gebeurtenissen is hij nog vastbeslotener om de kinderen aan het lachen te brengen, maar het resulteert in nog meer conflicten tussen hem, Tagawa en de kinderarts Haruka.
