During the holidays of Christmas, three groups of funny characters depart from Italy to spend the Christmas season in New York City.

People is a film shot behind closed doors in a workshop/house on the outskirts of Paris and features a dozen characters. It is based on an interweaving of scenes of moaning and sex. The house is the characters' common space, but the question of ownership is distended, they don't all inhabit it in the same way. As the sequences progress, we don't find the same characters but the same interdependent relationships. Through the alternation between lament and sexuality, physical and verbal communication are put on the same level. The film then deconstructs, through its repetitive structure, our relational myths.

De film vertelt het liefdesverhaal van vier paren. Alle facetten van het liefdesverhaal komen aan de orde: het verliefd worden, de crises, de ontrouw en het in de steek gelaten worden. Elk van deze vier fases van het verliefd zijn, wordt weergegeven door één van de vier paren: Tommaso en Giulia worden verliefd, Marco en Barbara staan op het punt om te scheiden, Gabriele is ontrouw tegenover Ornella, terwijl tenslotte Goffredo woedend is omdat zijn vrouw er vandoor is met een ander, maar tenslotte verliefd wordt op een andere vrouw hetgeen de cirkel op deze manier weer rond maakt.

Ringo is een veteraan uit de burgeroorlog, die terugkeert naar zijn geboortegrond. Daar treft hij echter zijn familie dood aan, blijkt zijn landgoed ingepikt door Mexicaanse bandieten en is zijn verloofde gedwongen om de leider van de Mexicanen te trouwen.

Fantaghirò en Romualdo zijn nog steeds erg verliefd, maar ook slachtoffer van afschuwelijke en bizarre toverkunst. Deze keer moet Fantaghirò de afschuwelijke vloek opheffen die Romualdo in een stenen beeld veranderd heeft. Haar kus kan hem niet tot leven wekken. Ze spoort de Zwarte Tovenares op, omdat zij de enige is die het geheim kent om Romualdo weer van vlees en bloed te maken. Het is echter de slechte heks Xellesia die Romualdo in een beeld veranderd heeft, omdat haar zoon Tarabas verliefd is op Fanthagirò.

De film over MacLeod vertelt het verhaal van de speurtocht van 'de onsterfelijken' naar de Heilige Graal: de bron van onsterfelijkheid.
